PEP Treatment in Phuket
PEP, post-exposure prophylaxis, is a 28-day course of HIV medication that can prevent infection after a high-risk exposure, but only if started within 72 hours. Every hour matters. We assess, test and start PEP in a single confidential visit, day or night.
What’s Included
- Confidential risk assessment with an English-speaking doctor
- Baseline rapid HIV test before starting
- PEP medication dispensed in the same visit
- Follow-up testing schedule at 4 to 6 weeks and 3 months
- Support for side effects through the full 28 days
When to See a Doctor
PEP works best in the first 24 hours and is not offered beyond 72 hours after the exposure, because after that window it no longer prevents infection. The course is one month of daily antiretroviral tablets, and modern regimens are far better tolerated than the older drugs that gave PEP its reputation for side effects.
Come in immediately after any high-risk event: condom failure or condomless sex with a partner of unknown status, needle exposure, or sexual assault. There is no judgement in this room, only a time window. If you are unsure whether your exposure justifies PEP, that uncertainty is itself the reason to be assessed today rather than to decide alone.

Book an AppointmentFrequently Asked Questions
How soon do I need to start PEP?
Within 72 hours of the exposure, and the earlier the better. Starting within 24 hours gives the best protection. This is a same-day medical situation, not a next-week one.
Is the visit confidential?
Completely. Testing and treatment are private, records are not shared, and we treat this consultation exactly like any other medical appointment.
