Dengue Fever Treatment in Phuket
There is no specific antiviral for dengue — good treatment means confirming it, keeping you hydrated, watching your platelets daily, and catching warning signs before they become dangerous. That is exactly what we do.
How We Treat It
- NS1 and antibody confirmation testing
- Daily platelet and blood-count monitoring
- IV fluid therapy in clinic when needed
- Paracetamol-based fever control (never NSAIDs)
- Immediate hospital referral if warning signs appear
When to See a Doctor
Most dengue recovers fully with fluids, rest and monitoring. The critical window is often around days 3–7, sometimes just as fever drops — which is why daily blood checks matter even when you feel you are improving.
Go to hospital immediately (we will arrange it) for: severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding from gums or nose, black stools, extreme lethargy or restlessness. And never take ibuprofen or aspirin with dengue — paracetamol only.

Book an AppointmentFrequently Asked Questions
How long does dengue last?
Typically about a week of illness with fatigue that can linger for another week or two. Most people are monitored as outpatients with daily checks.
Can I get dengue twice?
Yes — there are four strains, and second infections can be more severe, which makes early testing on any future fever even more important.
